Appeals Process

Admission Appeals

If you have applied for, but have been unsuccessful in obtaining a place for your child at Sir Christopher Hatton, you have the right to appeal.

In Year Appeals

If you wish to appeal for a place at Sir Christopher Hatton Academy please download and complete a ‘Notice of Appeal’ form. Guidance notes relevant to your appeal are also available for download via the links below. Please read these notes before completing the Appeal Form.

The external Clerk responsible for arranging the appeal will provide the appellant with at least 10 school days' notice of the appeal date(s). This notification will include a deadline for any additional evidence to be submitted before the hearing.

The external Clerk will send the decision letter within five school days of when the decision is made (the only proviso being that this is subject to the number of appeals that are heard).

If you have not applied for a place, you must do this first. Please see our admissions page for information on how to apply for a place. You can only appeal for a place in any academic year for a child once.

Year 7 Guidance Notes for Parents

The Appeals Hearing for all Year 7 appeals received prior to 4:00pm on 2 April 2020 will be held during week commencing 8 June 2020 at The Diocese of Peterborough Offices. 

An appeal which is lodged after the 2 April 2020 will be heard without delay and if at all possible before the commencement of the Year 7 September term, although that will be subject to the date when the appeal is made.
