Residential visits 2018/19

Barcelona - October 2018

During the Autumn Term Ms Hewes, Mrs Heaney-Cox & Mr Cowley from MFL Department took 30 students to visit Barcelona for 5 days to gain experience of using the Spanish language, learning about Spanish culture and some food tasting too!  They visited all the popular sites including the famous Sagrada Família - Antoni Gaudí's renowned unfinished church, Park Güell, Casa Milà, Porta Ventura Theme Park with time for shopping on the famous La Rambla.

Cern, Switzerland - October 2018

Ms Ellis & Mr Marston took Year 12 students for a three day visit Cern and the Hadron Collider in Geneva, Switzerland.  This is our fourth joint physics visit with Wollaston School and Wrenn Academy.  As well as visiting Cern - a trip on Lake Geneva with some sightseeing in Geneva.

Year 10 at NCS Camp - March 2019

An opportunity for 18 Year 10 along with Miss Coe and Mr Maher to experience a week at the National Citizen Service Camp at Kingswood, South Yorkshire which continued back here in Northamptonshire for week working on Social Action Projects within the local community.

Year 8 Team Building In Lincolnshire - April 2019

A fantastic time was had by all when Mrs Blake and 6 members of staff took 95 Year 8 students to PGL Caythorpe in the Lincolnshire countryside for a week of team building activities.   Many fears were conquered including a chance for Mr Kneeshaw to finally complete the trapeze challenge of climbing onto a very high pole and jumping to the trapeze bar - awesome!

A Level Geography Field Trip - Devon - April 2019

Mr Macdonald and Mr Bozkurt took 12 Year 12 to windswept Devon for 4 days to carry out their A level fieldwork studies.                                 

Girl's Netball Tournament - May 2019 

Miss Smyth and 3 staff members took 40 students to PGL Liddington, Swindon for a weekend of tournament netball with other schools where our Year 7's came Third overall.  As well as netball they also had some fun with Abseiling, Climbing, Zip Wire, Aeroball and the Giant Swing in their spare time!

Boppard, Germany - July 2019                  

Our last residential of the year to Boppard, Germany.  Mrs Heaney-Cox, Mrs Welch, Mr Cowley and Mr McLellen took 45 students to explore the area, find out about local traditions and extend their German speaking skills. Their visit included at trip into Cologne to the Imhoff Chocolate Museum, Phantasialand, a walk around Rudesheim including a cable car and a boat trip on the Rhine.  It was also an opportunity to try out local cuisine and the ice cream parlour!  A great time was had by all that they all wanted to say another week!
