House Events
Our House System is at the heart of school life, providing students with a wide range of opportunities to participate, compete, and contribute to their school community. House events take place throughout the academic year, offering something for everyone, whether it be sports, creative challenges, academic competitions, or community initiatives.
A Year of Exciting Events
Each term, students can take part in a variety of House Events that are designed to challenge, inspire, and develop key character values. Our events fall into four main categories:
- Curriculum-Based Challenges – Subject-led competitions such as the Dragon’s Den Business Challenge, Maths Pi Day Challenge, Science Week Challenges, and the English Short Story Competition encourage students to apply their learning in engaging and competitive ways.
- Sports Competitions – From Dodgeball, Football, Basketball, Hockey, Table Tennis, and Netball to the exciting Wandering Trophy Tournaments, students can represent their house and showcase teamwork, resilience, and determination.
- School Community Initiatives – Events such as Food Bank Collections, Anti-Bullying Week, Pay It Forward Kindness Competitions, and the Pride Colour Run encourage students to contribute positively to their school and beyond.
- House Celebrations – The Hatton House Cup, Big Fat Quiz of the Year, and termly 100% Attendance Challenges celebrate student achievement and commitment to their house.
House Map & Event Planning
Our House Map outlines all the events planned for the year across Autumn, Spring, and Summer Terms. Each term includes a balanced mix of competitions, sports, and community-driven activities to ensure every student has the opportunity to get involved.
By taking part in House Events, students earn points for their house, helping to shape the House League Table and ultimately competing for the Hatton House Cup. Every contribution, whether through participation or winning an event, brings their house one step closer to victory.
