How to Find Us

Sir Christopher Hatton Academy is situated in Wellingborough (NN8 4RP) north of the town centre. We hope that you will find the link to Google Maps helpful to find us. Written directions are also included below for your convenience.

Travelling from North of Wellingborough (A509 / A14 Kettering)

Follow the A509 into Wellingborough, through Isham and Great Harrowden. At the major roundabout, take the 3rd exit, following signs for the town centre. Take the 2nd left turn into The Pyghtle (immediately following the pedestrian crossing). Continue along the Pyghtle and take the 3rd left turn into the Academy driveway.

Travelling from the East of Wellingborough (A510 / A6 / Finedon)

Follow the A510 from Finedon into Wellingborough. Cross the railway bridge and at the mini roundabout continue straight on (past the Shell garage on the right hand side). At the next roundabout, take the second exit (straight ahead). At the following mini roundabout (Eastfield Park opposite), turn right into Cross Road. Follow the road round to the left at the end of the Eastfield Park into Gold Street. Take the 2nd right turn into the Pyghtle and the 1st right turn into the Academy driveway.

Travelling from the South of Wellingborough (A509 / M1 Junction 14 / Milton Keynes)

Follow the A509 from Little Irchester into Wellingborough. At the Tesco roundabout, take the 2nd exit and follow signs for the town centre. At the 1st set of traffic lights (Wrenn School on Left / Wellingborough School on right) proceed straight on through the Town Centre (Sheep Street). You will pass Macdonalds on the right and after 500 yards, having passed Oxford Street on the left, filter left and proceed straight ahead into High Street (Warwicks Tailors on right hand side). At the top of High Street bear right past Broad Green (Queen's Head public house on right hand side. At the traffic lights turn right and take the right hand lane. At the next set of lights proceed straight on into Gold Street (Dun Cow public house on right hand side). Travel past the Total garage on the left hand side and take the 1st left turn into The Pyghtle. Take the first turn right into the Academy driveway.

Travelling from the West of Wellingborough (A45 / A4500 / M1 Junction 15 / Northampton)

From the A45, at the Macdonalds roundabout, take the first exit (left). At the Sainsbury roundabout, take the second exit and follow the signs for Park Farm Industrial Estate. (If approaching from the A4500 from Earls Barton, you will take the first exit (left) at the Sainsbury roundabout. At the next roundabout (Bannatyne's Gym) take the second exit. Proceed to the next roundabout and take the third exit into Niort Way following the signs for Kettering / A509 / A14. At the next roundabout, take the fourth exit (right) into Harrowden Road. Take the 2nd left turn into the Pyghtle immediately after the pedestrian crossing. Continue along the Pyghtle and take the 2nd left turn into the School driveway.

Visitors Information

The Academy is a closed site with strict visitor and security procedures designed to safeguard our students. No visitor will be allowed to work unsupervised on our premises unless they have been approved to do so, requiring submission of evidence of a clear enhanced Criminal Records Bureau check.

If you are visiting the Academy for the first time then please allow a little extra time to gain access through our security gates and for our receptionist to provide you with a full visitors briefing.
